Christian Retailing News Editor Marcia Bartenhagen has been appointed the magazine's new managing editor. Bartenhagen brings to her new role a background in Christian retailing as a music buyer for the family-owned independent Bible Book Store in Williston, N.D. “The Christian Retailing team wants to see stores succeed, and I am excited to be part of that in my new role,” Bartenhagen said. “Having worked at a Christian-retail store for more than three years, I know firsthand the importance of providing products that meet the spiritual needs of customers.” News editor for the magazine for the last 18 months, Bartenhagen previously worked as assistant to the chief administrative officer at the office of Governor Don Sundquist in Nashville, Tenn. Announcing the move, Strang Communications Magazine Manager Rob Andrescik said: “Marcia's work ethic and extensive knowledge of the industry made this an easy decision for us. We are delighted that she has accepted this new role.”
Managing Editor Larry J. Leech II is leaving to become the advertising manager for Godly Business Woman magazine in the Orlando, Fla., area. His last day with Christian Retailing is next Tuesday.
