The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) announced the finalists for the prestigious ECPA Jordon Christian Book of the Year Award this week.

The 2004 ECPA Jordon Christian Book of the Year Award finalists, as nominated by Christian retailers, are:

  • Wild at Heart, John Eldredge (Thomas Nelson)
  • The Faith of George W. Bush, Stephen Mansfield (Charisma House)
  • Don't Waste Your Life, John Piper (Crossway)
  • The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel (Zondervan)
  • The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren (Zondervan)

Three of this year's finalists have also been finalists in years past -- The Case for Christ (1999, 2001), The Purpose Driven Life (2003 winner), and Wild at Heart (2002, 2003).

The winner will be presented at the 27th Annual Gold Medallion Banquet on June 26 at the CBA International convention in Atlanta. The ECPA Christian Book of the Year Award honors Charles 'Kip' Jordon and affords retailers the opportunity to choose the one book they've most enjoyed selling in the past year.
