Bowker has announced a new data warehouse module for its PubTrack data system, which serves the Christian product industry among other channels. According to officials for the publishing information company, the services level the playing field for small- and medium-sized publishers by helping them to analyze internal sales data and identify important trends. Previously, sophisticated sales data analysis tools were only available to large publishers with more extensive financial and technology resources than their smaller competitors. Bowker General Manager Kelly Gallagher said with the module, "publishers can use a proven set of business intelligence tools and dashboards that were designed by publishers and for publishers, rather than trying to modify other products available from software vendors or develop their own.
"In order to obtain the kind of insight they need to be successful in this increasingly competitive marketplace, publishing executives need to have access to multiple sources of sales data on a common platform," Gallagher added. "For those publishers already doing this type of analysis, our new data warehouse services may prove to be a more cost-effective solution."
