A new, easy-to-read Bible translation, Nueva Biblia al día (NBD), is to be released by Grupo Nelson, Thomas Nelson's Spanish division, Sept. 2.

Produced by the International Bible Society, the translation is an updated version of Biblia al día, based on Ken Taylor's paraphrase, The Living Bible, published in Spanish in 1979.

"The NBD isn't a translation from English to Spanish, but a revision compared with the original Hebrew and Greek texts," the company said in a statement. "What makes the NBD different from other translations is that it maintains the clarity and simplicity of the language that Dr. Taylor used."

The NBD is available in three formats: deluxe with concordance and 32 color pages available in bonded leather and hardcover; visual reference with sections on promises, miracles, prayers and prophecies available in purple, green and turquoise bonded leather; and pocket-size with color maps available in charcoal, burgundy and green bonded leather.
