American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) has announced the finalists in its 2008 Book of the Year Contest.

The competition's categories are: Debut Author, Contemporary Novella, Historical Novella, General Fiction, Lits, Long Contemporary, Long Contemporary Romance, Long Historical, Mystery, Short Contemporary, Short Contemporary Suspense, Short Historical, Speculative, Suspense, Women's Fiction and Young Adult.

The winning books and authors will be announced at the ACFW Conference and Awards Banquet on Sept. 20 in Minneapolis. The contest is judged by a panel of ACFW members.
