Lifetogether Publishing, in association with Grace Hill Media, plans to release a free video curriculum based on the movie The Kite Runner for Christian small groups. Due to be released nationwide Dec. 21, The Kite Runner, which is rated PG-13 for strong thematic material, including violence and brief strong language, is based on Khaled Hosseini's 2003 best-selling novel (Riverhead, Penguin Group USA) of the same name about "friendship, family, devastating mistakes and redeeming love," according to the publisher. As part of Lifetogether's new "Faith in Film" series, the curriculum explores themes of friendship, betrayal, guilt and forgiveness, company officials said. The curriculum incorporates film footage from the film with commentary by host David Allan Donah. "We are pleased to produce Bible study materials that allow people to explore their faith through film," said John Nill, president of Lifetogether. "Film is a powerful tool and we hope to see studios continue this trend of producing films that are both inspirational and entertaining."
