Best-selling author and megachurch pastor Joel Osteen is due to meet church bookstore managers from across the country when they gather at his Lakewood Church in Houston, in March, for a national conference and trade show.

The author of Your Best Life Now and Become a Better You will speak to attendees at the fourth annual Gathering of Church Bookstores to be held at his church March 26-28. Lakewood Church also operates Lakewood Bookstore, the 2007 Church Bookstore of the Year as voted by readers of The Church Bookstore magazine.

"We're delighted that Pastor Osteen is planning to spend time with us, and that we are able to see close up his church's excellent store," said Dave Condiff, associate publisher of The Church Bookstore, which is sponsoring the event. "I know attendees will be encouraged in their church ministries by what they both hear and see at Lakewood."

The Gathering will provide opportunities for all church bookstore staff-both new and seasoned, from management to frontliners-to be trained by leaders in the field, encouraged spiritually and to connect with suppliers and other church bookstore staff. The three-day event includes workshops, fellowship, worship and inspiration, and a full exhibit floor.

Another speaker at the event will be Kerry Shook, pastor of the Houston-area Fellowship of the Woodlands church in The Woodlands, Texas, and co-author of One Month to Live (WaterBrook Press) to be published in February.
