Retail trainer Jack Scott, who has taught booksellers at CBA, American Booksellers Association and numerous international bookselling association events, will lead workshops for Canadian and international Christian retailers at Marketsquare International: A World of Opportunity, according to Christian Trade Association International (CTAI).

Set for Jan. 24-26 near the Toronto Pearson International Airport, the new convention will feature sessions on topics such as "Fundamentals of Supervision," "The Best Displays in the World" and "Excellence in Customer Service."

A dozen publishers worldwide will also participate in the workshops, and the convention will include a full exhibition from major suppliers worldwide, CTAI said.

To be held at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Marketsquare International, which will serve international buyers in the absence of CBA's cancelled Advance event, is a "table top" display event that is being organized to serve the growing number of international buyers who want to be able to meet collectively with U.S.-based suppliers early in the year.

"We continue to work with potential supplier/exhibitors," CTAI President Jim Powell said. "International buyers want to know that Zondervan and Nelson and Tyndale will be there, but they also want to know that Scripture Candy and Kudzu Traders are there. We find that every product coming out of America is of interest to international buyers."
