Thomas Nelson Publishers will publish the memoir of troubled pop star Britney Spears' mother. Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World by Lynne Spears is scheduled for release in May 2008, around Mother's Day, company officials said.

Grand Rapids, Mich., author Lorilee Craker will help Spears write the book, The Grand Rapids Press reported. Craker told the newspaper that contrary to tabloid reports, Pop Culture Mom would not be a celebrity tell-all, but more of a mother's-eye view of a struggling child who has been thrust into the pop-culture eye. The singer and her mother had been estranged, but recently reconciled, Craker added.

According to a spokesperson for Nelson, the manuscript for Pop Culture Mom has not been written, so the book's content that is being circulated on numerous Web sites and tabloids is "purely speculation." Spears' youngest daughter is Jamie Lynn Spears, star of Nickelodeon's Zoey 101.
