GRAMMY-winning artist Amy Grant has agreed to serve as a spokesperson for a campaign to fight against hunger. Recently, the singer kicked off "Spread the Sharing," sponsored by Country Crock, at a food pantry in New York City, according to Unilever, one of the world's largest consumer products companies.

Grant will be the host of the campaign's online news program called the Sharing News Network, www.SpreadTheSharing.com.

The campaign celebrates “the big and small acts of sharing that people do daily,” Unilever officials said. Country Crock is encouraging consumers to log onto the Sharing News Network and submit their story of sharing.

For every story shared, Country Crock will donate a meal through America's Second Harvest, the largest charitable hunger-relief organization in the country. The campaign goal is to collect a million stories of sharing by Thanksgiving, which will trigger a million-meal donation.

"This campaign is about the power of sharing and the power of communities," Grant said in a statement. "When people notice the difference sharing makes in their community, they are motivated to share even more."
