Bookstore Manager has announced an agreement allowing CBA and its CROSS:SCAN (Christian Retail Official Sales Statistics) service to collect sales data from independent Christian retailers using the company's sales data collection pipeline. Bookstore Manager founder Randy Voorhees said utilizing the company's inventory control software via the Eye On Inventory Interchange (EOII) pipeline will help Christian retailers benefit from simplified data delivery, and improve traffic and sales through market-responsive inventory management. Voorhees said Bookstore Manager users wanted to participate in CROSS:SCAN, “but don't have the time and technical staff to do so if it is not simplified and automated. … So we're glad to provide our retailers with the capability through our EOII to participate in this important industry-wide data collection service with very little effort required at the store level.” CBA President Bill Anderson said utilizing the agreement “makes it convenient for Bookstore Manager's participating retailers to join the hundreds of retailers already participating in CROSS:SCAN. It is exciting to see more and more Christian retailers recognize the value of their own data, and how its value increases exponentially when they work together through CBA to shape the Christian retail channel and its future.”
CBA announced CROSS:SCAN in 2005 as a response to members' concerns about the existing use of Christian retail chain data.
