Third Day wins third GRAMMY Award Print

Rock band Third Day received their third career trophy last night during the 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The Atlanta-based group won the Pop Contemporary Gospel Album category for Wherever You Are (Essential Records). Third Day previously received GRAMMYs for both Wire and Come Together.

Kirk Franklin was awarded a GRAMMY in the Best Gospel Song category for “Imagine Me” and another one for the Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album for his CD Hero (Fo Yo Soul Entertainment).

Other GRAMMY winners included Yolanda Adams, who captured the Best Gospel Performance category for her song “Victory” from The Gospel Soundtrack (Verity Records). Randy Travis won the Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album for his Glory Train CD (Word Records/Curb/Warner Bros). Blues guitarist Jonny Lang garnered the first GRAMMY of his career in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for his album Turn Around (A&M Records).
