'Rocky' sees $12 million Print

The final “Rocky” film, Rocky Balboa, released from MGM Dec. 20 and captured the No. 3 spot at the box office for the holiday weekend. The film brought in $12 million over the weekend, being released at a little over 3,000 theaters.

Ranking No. 1 and 2 were Night at the Museum and The Pursuit of Happyness, respectively.

The family-friendly film has been marketed heavily to churches and Christian retail by Motive Entertainment Partnership through the creation of resources and teaching materials, and is rated PG.
