A new venue has been announced for The Third Annual Gathering of Church Bookstores, to be held in April.

The four-day trade show and training event will be hosted by Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, April 18-21. The church's Prestonwood Bookstore received one of CBA's three 2006 Impact Bookstore of the Year Awards, the first church bookstore to win such an award.

The store also received the first Church Bookstore of the Year Award from The Church Bookstore magazine, which is sponsoring the event, at this year's gathering. The magazine's associate publisher, Dave Condiff, said that moving the 2007 gathering from Atlanta, as initially planned, “will actually mean we will be able to put together what promises to be an even more exciting event.”

Hundreds of church bookstore managers and staff from across the country are expected to attend the event, which will include training sessions on a wide range of church bookstore operations and issues, and exhibits from suppliers serving the growing church bookstore movement.

Speakers will include best-selling authors Zig Ziglar and Dr. Don Colbert, and Prestonwood's pastor Jack Graham, a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Workshop presenters will include contributors to The Church Bookstore and regional directors of the new Church Bookstore Network, along with President Geni Hulsey, who manages The Garden Bookstore at Houston's First Baptist Church in Houston.
