CBA and the Christian Music Trade Association have partnered to launch a cooperative-promotional campaign to boost music sales in Christian stores as the first step in a three-year project to boost Christian-retail music sales by 10% in Christian retail stores. The strategy involves a consumer mailing by music companies and a customer mailing by participating Christian retailers to direct consumers and customers to a “Super Tuesday” Web site that features audio and video clips of new music releases from cooperating music companies. The plan calls for two more large-scale e-mail blasts in November and four in December. The channel-wide e-mail campaign to announce new-music releases and direct consumers to Christian stores to buy them launched Oct. 3. Music-company e-mails will refer site visitors to a CBA store locator. The retail link goes to a Web site without the store locator, so retailers can promote their store to their customers.
The project is part of a three-year initiative to increase music sales in Christian stores by 10%. The retailer site is www.newmusicfirst.com/ecard/.
