CBA President Bill Anderson has paid tribute to former CBA Board Chairman (2002-2004) and Christian retailer Glenn McGinnis, who died Sept. 16 of a heart attack, aged 67.

In addition to serving on the CBA board, McGinnis also served several organizations in Kerrville, Texas, including the board of Habitat for Humanity, the chamber of commerce, the board of Partners in Ministry and as president of the Kerrville Noon Rotary club.

“He loved people, and people loved him,” his wife of 42 years, Crystal McGinnis, told CBA. “He loved the Lord; loved teaching. He was an awesome Bible teacher.”

“In our industry, Glenn used his leadership opportunities to emphasize the spiritual dimensions of our work, calling the entire Christian retail channel forward and upward,” Anderson said of the former owner of The Dove's Nest in Kerrville. “He challenged everyone to work together more intentionally for the common good, in ways that honor our Lord. He was always willing to recognize the hard issues of doing ministry through business, but he stayed focused on the kingdom.”

McGinnis is survived by his wife, Crystal; daughter, Michelle; son, Craig, and daughter-in-law, Betsy. A memorial service was held last week in Kerrville.
