The 2006 Winter Jam tour came to a close recently after seeing average attendance of nearly 8,000 per show, an increase in average paid attendance of 38% from last year.

The tour, which featured artists NewSong, Newsboys, Toby Mac, ZOEgirl, Hawk Nelson and Krystal Meyers, saw seven of 31 shows exceed 10,000 in attendance, with total attendance of more than 240,000.

Winter Jam was “the most successful Jam tour in the event's 10-year history,” said Troy VanLiere, of VanLiere-Wilcox, in a statement. VanLiere-Wilcox is tour producer and manager for NewSong (Integrity Music), which founded and hosts Winter Jam.
