InterVarsity Press (IVP) has partnered with BridgeLeader Network (BLN) to publish BridgeLeader books, resources that will “contribute to a better understanding and practice of genuine racial reconciliation within the church and in the world,” IVP said in a statement. BLN, a nonprofit business, consults nationally and internationally with ministries, organizations and corporations wanting to achieve multicultural effectiveness, and is led by President and CEO David Anderson, senior pastor of Bridgeway Community Church in Columbia, Md. “Racial reconciliation is a longstanding core value and commitment for InterVarsity Press,” said Bob Fryling, IVP publisher. “Bridgeway Community Church is nationally recognized as one of the leading examples of how a church can have an effective, diverse, multicultural ministry. I'm glad that with this partnership (IVP) can help communicate their insights and experiences and make them available to the wider church at large.” The first book to emerge out of this partnership, scheduled to release in 2007, is tentatively titled The Seven Sayings of a Gracist by Anderson. The title is meant to give “a new paradigm for thinking about race,” where it is not ignored, but dealt with, said IVP's Al Hsu, the series' lead editor.
