Triunison, the inventory-management services consortium founded by three Christian retail industry veterans, has been dissolved.

The wind-up was announced today in a joint statement by Steve Potratz, founder of The Parable Group, and Randy Voorhees, founder of Bookstore Manager. The two men had unveiled their initiative at CBA International in 2004, along with Tom Torbett, who retired as President of Appalachian Distributors last year.

Potratz and Voorhees said that many of the ideas surrounding Triunison were born a few years ago out of CBA's statements and recommendations at one of its Future of the Industry conferences.

Since then, much had changed, Voorhees said. “As we've gone down this road, it became more apparent to both Steve and I that we should focus on what we do best,” he said. “As we began to reach this conclusion over the recent months, Tom Torbett decided he wanted to retire not only from Appalachian, but from Triunison as well. That seemed to make the decision much easier.”

Potratz said Parable would continue to offer the inventory tools previously handled by Triunison. The Eye on Inventory program will continue to be supported by Bookstore Manager.
