Broadcaster killed while visiting Africa |

Broadcaster, publisher and musician Thom Hickling was killed in an automobile accident on Tuesday while visiting his daughter in Zambia, Africa. He was 51. Hickling was active with Hickling Broadcasting, founded by his parents, who operated Christian radio stations in the Pittsburgh area for many years. Expression, a monthly newspaper serving the Christian community of Pittsburgh, was founded by Hickling, who served as editor, and his wife, Cathy. Hickling also was involved in television at Cornerstone Television in Pittsburgh, working with the Lightmusic Christian music-video program and creating His Place, a daily talk show.
Hickling is survived by his mother, a brother, sister and four children.
