Gospel Light honors Sunday school teacher of the year |

Ruth Baron from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers, Fla., was named Sunday School Teacher of the Year on Oct. 16, which was Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day. Baron has been a Sunday school teacher for more than 45 years at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Gospel Light, sponsor of Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day, awarded Baron with a vacation for two to Hawaii and a commemorative plaque. She also was given additional gifts from Christian Tools of Affirmation, a partner of the appreciation day. Bill Denzel, president of Gospel Light, and Pastor Sam Henderson-along with the Covenant Presbyterian congregation-will honor Baron in a special service on Oct. 30, which will commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Sunday School Teacher of the Year Award. Denzel will award Covenant Presbyterian with a $500 Gospel Light gift certificate, which can be redeemed for Sunday school and vacation Bible school curricula, books, videos and teaching resources from Gospel Light and Regal Books.
Jackie Householder from Trinity United Methodist in Lansing, Mich.-a Sunday school teacher for 42 years-was this year's first runner-up.
