Chris Mungeam, founder of Sovereign World Limited (SWL), said the sale of the U.K.-based publishing company did not take place. A sale was expected to be finalized on Aug. 31.

Earlier this year, Mungeam said he was selling the for-profit company to spend more time working with his charities-Sovereign World Trust and U.S.-based Sovereign World International.

“Naturally we are sorry that after so many months of anticipation a deal is not forthcoming but we respect that the expected purchaser needed to withdraw 'for personal reasons,' ” Mungeam said.

Sovereign World has impacted the Christian market globally since 1986 with biblically based teaching books.
