The Rev. Dr. Paul G. Irwin has been selected unanimously by the Board of Trustees to be the interim president/CEO of the American Bible Society while a search process goes on to select a new president. Dr. Irwin will assume his post on July 18, 2005. He is a veteran member of the Bible Society Board of Trustees and has chaired the audit committee, committee on trustees, and development committee.

Chairing the search committee is Dr. Dennis C. Dickerson, professor of history at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and historiographer for the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He said, "The Bible Society will be in good hands."
