The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) will pull together the Gallup Organization, Nielsen Entertainment, Ipsos-Insight (a marketing research consultancy firm), and Christian publishing's top professionals for the second Publishing University (Pub U), themed “Consumer Centric Publishing.” Scheduled Nov. 6-8 in Illinois, Pub U will feature six educational tracks led by top industry professionals. Robert Baensch, director of New York University's Center for Publishing, will serve as training consultant and dean of the university program. The three new tracks are Information Technology, Production and Pre-Press Management and an introduction to publishing called Publishing 101. Sales and marketing tracks were combined into one track to focus on the interactivity necessary between marketing and sales teams.
Speakers will focus on “Consumer Centric Publishing,” covering census data, consumer habits and specific book-buying trends. Peer Group workshops will allow participants to apply principles learned to their publishing disciplines.
