Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group announced the return of Bill Barry to the newly created position of vice president and publisher of Doubleday Religion. Starting Aug. 1, Barry will be responsible for growing the revenues of business through acquisitions as well as enhanced publishing programs.

Barry's publishing career began in 1979 when he joined Doubleday's then religious imprint Image Books as an editorial assistant. He left in 1995 and went to Bantam Doubleday Dell and then Random House. Most recently, he was president of DK Publishing, the U.S. arm of Dorling Kindersley, the British publisher of illustrated books.
