EPA ANNOUNCES AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE Print Email

The Evangelical Press Association announced its Higher Goals and Awards of Excellence last week during its annual convention in Illinois. The contest honors the best work done by EPA-member publications during 2004.

Awards of Excellence in the 11 categories went to the following publications: Christian Ministries, Preaching (American Ministry Resources); Denominational, EFCA Today (Evangelical Free Church of America); Devotional, Indeed (Walk Thru the Bible); General, Christianity Today (Christianity Today, International); Missionary, World Vision (World Vision, U.S.); Newsletter, Plugged In (Focus on the Family); Newspaper, Christian Examiner (Keener Communications Group); On-line, Christianity Today Movies (Christianity Today International); Organizational, Wheaton (Wheaton College); Youth, Go! (North American Mission Board); Most Improved Publication, Connections (Reasons to Believe).

Higher Goals winners were awarded in 27 different categories: Biblical Exposition, Christian History & Biography and Christian Leader; Cause of the Year (racial reconciliation), Baptist Press and Plain Truth; Critical Review, Citizen and Mutuality: The Voice of Christians for Biblical Equality; Editorial, Leadership; Evangelistic Article, Light & Life; Devotional, Stillpoint; Fiction, Today's Christian Woman; First-Person, The Heartland Gatekeeper; General Article, Christian Research Journal; Humor, New Man; Interview, Leadership; Personality, World Vision; Poetry, Sojourners; Reporting, Citizen; Standing Column, Indeed; Single-Theme Section/Issue, Discipleship Journal; Cartoon, Clubhouse; Cover, Kindred Spirit; Original Art, Clubhouse Jr. and Kindred Spirit; Photo Feature, Decision; Single Photo/Candid, World Vision; Single Photo/Controlled Setting, Christianity Today; Two-Page Spread Design, Campus Life; Typography and Lettering, Campus Life; Publication Design, Worldwide Challenge; Publication Redesign, On Course and Wheaton; Freelance Article, Christian Research Journal.
