Based on the seventh novel in Janette Oke’s popular “Love Comes Softly” series, Love Takes Wing was released last month by Fox Faith. Directed by and starring Lou Diamond Phillips, the 88-minute Western romance also features Patrick Duffy (Dallas) and Backstreet Boys singer Kevin Scott Richardson. It retails for $22.98.

Originally broadcast as part of their “The Way of the Master” TV series, Ray Comfort’s and Kirk Cameron’s Why Christianity? is released next month by Living Waters Publications (800-437-1893) as a stand-alone program. Intended for use in outreach, the 30-minute evangelistic program retails for $5.

Filmmakers John Schimke and Stewart Redwine last month released their latest modern-day recasting of some of Jesus’ teachings. Zondervan’s 36 Parables: Amber offers three vignettes as discussion-starters, including the parable of the good shepherd. The 35-minute program sells for $19.99.

Next month will see the arrival of Read and Share DVD Bible: Volume 4. The hour-long Thomas Nelson release for ages 3 to 7 includes 13 lessons, featuring such Bible characters as Gideon and Hannah. Retail price, $14.99.

MTI Home Video’s Train Master, released last month, offers lessons about honesty and kindness through the story of a business clash between two railroad-owning families. The 94-minute family drama, written and directed by Phil Bransom, includes behind-the-scenes extras and retails for $24.95.

The movie version of the hit gospel musical stage play, Love Ain’t Supposed to Hurt II: The Wedding, is released next month by Maverick Spirit (Maverick Entertainment Group). Starring Tommy Ford from television’s Martin, the 136-minute drama follows Tracie’s marriage preparations, which are upset by her Bible-toting aunt, Shirley. The film retails for $19.98.
