UMPHlogo2The United Methodist Publishing House (UMPH) has a contract on LakeFront Office Park, a building in Nashville’s MetroCenter, according to a report by The Tennessean. The property under contract had been owned by Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams, who died last October.

If the deal closes, the denomination’s publishing arm expects to renovate the 125,000-square-foot office building, the newspaper reported. UMPH plans to buy the 10.5 acres on which the building sits.

The publishing house currently occupies a 7.2-acre property across from the Music City Center convention hall. Previous attempts to sell the property fell through, and now the denomination is looking to sell approximately 1 acre formerly occupied by a Cokesbury store to a group led by a New York investor, The Tennessean reported.

UMPH spokeswoman Amy Smith had no comment on the story, but said a press release would be issued when there was news of a relocation.
