Whitaker House is donating 1,200 books to God Day—Awakening a City to Awaken Nations, a revival movement launching today from Central Florida.

Joshua Fowler, apostle and senior minister of Legacy Life Church in Orlando, heads the movement that will include a leadership congress, a solemn assembly of fasting, interceding and rallying believers to evangelize and bring in a great harvest of souls. More than 100 churches as well as businesses and community organizations are promoting the event with its 12 hours of prayer, praise and proclamation.

During God Day, Fowler’s plan is to distribute 12,000 or more pairs of shoes to fatherless children.

“This gathering is a movement of people that are looking to restore honor to God and to father the fatherless,” Fowler said. “I received this mandate long ago from the Lord and we are seeing it through to its fruition. We want show our love for Him and to throw God a God-sized party.”

Bob Whitaker Jr., president of Whitaker House, said that his company donated 1,200 copies of The Power of Blessing Your Children by Mary Ruth Swope, a book with themes that tie into the spirit of the event.

“I sat down with Dr. Fowler at the ICRS [International Christian Retail Show] conference last summer and when I learned that one of the purposes of God Day was ‘fathering the fatherless,’ I thought of Dr. Swope’s very inspiring and practical book,” Whitaker said. “It’s my hope and prayer that God  blesses our small contribution to this event, which I believe will make a great impact for the cause of Christ.”
