Zondervan has received two regional advertising awards for The Story. The American Advertising Federation of West Michigan awarded the design team at Extra Credit Projects two Silver ADDY Awards for its work on the unique New International Version (NIV) edition in the categories of Photography, Digitally Enhanced and Cover.

“From the moment we saw it, we were captivated and fell in love with the two different images of the King’s crowns,” said Zondervan’s Bob Rogers, vice president of marketing & sales for The Story, of the cover design.

Rob Jackson, principal and creative director at Extra Credit Projects, sees simplicity as “always key in a cluttered marketplace, and we trust the simple idea and bold shelf appeal of The Story cover design will resonate with our audience,” he said.

With more than 300,000 copies sold to date, The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People is written in 31 chapters that unfold the progression of vital Bible characters and events.

Selected by pastors Max Lucado and Randy Frazee for a 31-week sermon series at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, more than 2,000 churches are now participating. The Story features age-appropriate versions for five age groups and accompanying curriculum. In February, Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Ky., the fourth-largest church in the country according to Outreach magazine, launched a year-long study using The Story.

Zondervan was also the recipient of two other regional Silver ADDY awards, one in the Packaging Campaign category for a sliding Bible case and the other in Video Sales Presentation for the NIV Come Closer video.
