PropellerBobElderAndAndyPeterson-webNashville-based entertainment-marketing agency Propeller has promoted two senior executives to better handle the company’s success in the wake of the growing faith-based film industry.

Longtime Propeller Executive Vice President and COO Bob Elder will replace company co-founder and CEO Dan Merrell as president, effective immediately. Merrell will retain his title as CEO and continue to serve on the board. In addition, company veteran Andy Peterson has been named its new senior vice president and creative director.

Elder joined Propeller in 2006, bringing with him industry experience from previous positions at Family Christian Stores, Word Entertainment and Big Idea Productions.

“Bob’s day-to-day leadership of Propeller has been instrumental in the growth of our brand, and there is no one else better prepared to lead this agency into the future,” said Merrell.

Peterson, will add senior vice president and creative director to his duties serving some of the company’s most high-profile clients, including NBC, Showtime and Provident Films. Peterson spent the early part of his career working in the music business, with stints at BMG Entertainment, Rocketown Records and Warner Bros. Records before joining Propeller in 2005.

“Andy’s leadership and excellent service to our expanding client base has been crucial to our success, and it is exciting to have his vision as a part of our executive leadership,” said James Ackerman, executive chairman of Propeller.
