ChicagoGiftMarketLogo-WebMerchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI) has renamed the Gift and Home Midwest marketplace as Chicago Gift Market.

“To support our new efforts, we have assembled new sales and marketing teams to produce the shows,” said Susan McCullough, senior vice president. “We look forward to exciting changes and new directions.”

Margaret Powers, director of sales, said: “We are pleased to introduce our new name and branding as the first phase of an exciting plan to revitalize the most important gift market in Chicago and the Midwest, affirming MMPI’s commitment to building a market focused on the best the industry has to offer.”

Attendees at the show will experience a revitalized show floor with changes such as the introduction of a newly merchandised design-centric section, featuring gifts from whimsical to modern, as well as the expansion of the Emerging Artist section, focusing on handcrafted exhibitors new to the marketplace.

Buyers will benefit from informative seminars, gourmet food service, top visual displays and the introduction of TRENDwatch—product on live models in the eighth-floor café.

Permanent showrooms on the 13th floor will be open July 18-24 and the eighth-floor temporaries will be open July 20-23.
