The latest casualty of cutbacks from the Gospel Music Association (GMA) is the annual industry conference that, scheduled to take place in April, which has been scrapped. The organization was notifying its members this afternoon its intentions for a revised GMA Dove Week in April, although its official announcement did not specifically mention the cancellation of the industry conference.

Still moving ahead with its annual GMA Dove Awards on Wednesday, April 21, the organization is now rebranding the week as GMA Dove Week, which will still include events promoting gospel music, such as the as Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) and American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) award dinners.

The GMA is offering to serve as a coordination point for independently held activities during the week, such as record labels and companies holding showcases.
