Aames--who also starred as superhero Bibleman in videos from 1995-2004--filed for bankruptcy last year and sold off his belongings March 26, The Kansas City Star reported. After struggling for years with drug and alcohol addictions, Aames, 48, became a Christian and an ordained minister.

With his second wife, Maylo Upton-Aames, Aames wrote Grace Is Enough, released by B&H Publishing Group in November 2007. But after Upton-Aames, whom he was married to for 22 years, asked him for a divorce, Aames tried to commit suicide last Thanksgiving, various media reported.

"While we are not at liberty to give specific sales figures (of Grace Is Enough), we did go through two print runs, and received significant media interest per his celebrity at the initial release of the book," said Andrea Dennis of B&H's Trade Book Marketing and Promotions.

Among the items Aames tried to sell were antiques, artwork, a piano, leather couches, TV set, movie memorabilia, a mounted lion's head and other stuffed wildlife that he had hunted. Aames also signed autographs as a film crew recorded the garage sale for a VH1 TV documentary about his life, the Star reported.
