MarkDriscoll-webLifeWay Christian Stores removed one of Mark Driscoll’s books from the chain’s offerings, effective Aug. 9. LifeWay.com also has pulled a number of Driscoll’s titles except for some to which he contributed only part of the book.

Marty King, director of communications at LifeWay Christian Resources, told Christian Retailing that LifeWay stores carried only one of Driscoll’s books—which he did not name—but verified that the book had been pulled.

King’s complete statement on the subject reads: “LifeWay stores and LifeWay.com are not selling Mark Driscoll’s books while we assess the situation regarding his ministry.”

Affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, LifeWay Christian Stores is owned by LifeWay Christian Resources and has more than 180 locations.

The Acts 29 Network removed Driscoll’s Mars Hill Church in Seattle from the church-planting network, which he co-founded, on Aug. 8.
