Christian suppliers are celebrating recent successes in the film, apparel and children’s curriculum markets.

Trost Moving Pictures’ film The Lamp received Best Feature Drama honors, Best Actor (Cameron ten Napel) and Best of Festival at the Trail Dance Film Festival in Duncan, Okla.

Considering it an honor to be recognized by his peers, the film’s director, Tracy J. Trost, sees his success as “validation that films like The Lamp are viable and needed,” while ten Napel felt her award was “a dream come true.”

This is the third year Trost Moving Pictures has won at Trail Dance. Previously Trost has won Best Feature Narrative for Find Me and Best of Festival, Best Feature Drama, Best Actor (Muse Watson) and Best of Oklahoma Film for A Christmas Snow.

Elsewhere, leading apparel maker Kerusso took first and second place design awards at the 2011 Imprinted Sportswear Show (ISS) at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. 

In the “Outstanding Design: A Screen Print Artist’s Award” category in the January 2012 issue of Impressions magazine, Kerusso’s Torn Heart design took the number one spot, and the company’s Fear Not design followed in second place.

“When we set out to develop new products we make sure to take in as much visual pop culture as possible, so that when we start developing concepts we can approach them visually in a relevant way,” said Lorri Carter, Kerusso’s vice president of creative. “It’s a very in-depth process that strives to answer the needs of our customers.”

The Impressions Awards is the industry’s most prestigious apparel decorating contest. Along with being featured the magazine’s Web and social networking sites and in the Impressions Awards & Design Galleries, winning entries also will be displayed at the Impressions booth at all 2012 ISS events.

In the curriculum market, Standard Publishing has received top honors for the best Vacation Bible School program from the reviewing blog About the Children’s Department. Adventures on Promise Island: Where Kids Discover God’s Lifesaving Love has been selected as the Top Pick for VBS 2012, marking the fourth consecutive year the company has received the blog’s top honors.

“This VBS has solid Bible content and a strong focus on living what you learn by serving others,” writes Lynda Freeman, editor and children’s ministry expert. “Combine this with a fun island setting and great music from Yancy, well, you have a VBS which will impact and change lives!”

Freeman also awarded Standard honors for the program’s music, 10 original songs written and performed by Christian music artist Yancy.
