may i walk you homeSpiritual guide Joyce Rupp and hospice educator Joyce Hutchison have teamed up to give further advice and comfort to friends and family of the bereaved, who may be at a loss for ways to offer help and encouragement.

Drawing from their understanding of what it means to walk with people through times of grief, the pair provide wisdom and practical insights to assist both caregivers and family members who are dealing with end-of-life issues, in the new edition of May I Walk You Home? (978-1-594-71214-2, $12.95, Ave Maria Press), to be released next month.

Having sold more than 50,000 copies, the book has been reformatted on its 10th anniversary as a resource for professional hospice workers and loved ones caring for someone in their final days. Subtitled "Courage and Comfort for Caregivers of the Very Ill," the 192-page book matches Hutchison's stories with Rupp's prayers.

Ave Maria Press Publicist Amanda Williams said that Hutchison's "experience and empathy" and Rupp's "wisdom and inspiration" combined to help readers "discover the courage necessary to embrace the struggles and rewards of this final companionship."

Also published next month is the companion book, Now That You've Gone Home (978-1-594-71215-9, $12.95, Ave Maria Press), which aims to help readers navigate the bewildering landscape of grief once a loved one has died. The authors also address some of the more complex issues that come with the death of a loved one, including remarriage, and feelings of relief and regret.

Study of Paul encourages a reflective reading of Bible passages praying with saint paul

Praying With Saint Paul Using Lectio Divina: Acts of the Apostles (978-0-809-14645-1, $4.95), just released from Paulist Press, introduces readers to a major project supporting one of Pope Benedict XVI's recommendations for spiritual growth.

The 72-page softcover book presents the practice of "lectio divina," the reflective reading of Scripture that has been a popular devotional practice in the church from the earliest centuries. The four steps are: Read Scripture; Reflect on a small part of the reading; Pray on the message; and Act in response to God's call in daily life.
