VeggieTales-LogoB&H Kids is partnering with the Christian Comic Arts Society (CCAS) to officially announce two key projects—the release of VeggieTales Super Comics 3 & 4 and the re-launch of the Bibleman franchise—at Comic-Con International. The largest pop-culture entertainment event in the world, Comic-Con International: San Diego 2015 kicked off this week with sellout attendance of more than 125,000.

Produced by B&H Kids in partnership with Big Idea/Dreamworks, VeggieTales Super Comics Volumes 3 and 4 are scheduled for release in October. Each comic includes three stories, including an all-new LarryBoy tale, and 96 pages of full-color original illustrations by artist Cory Jones. Jones will be a featured guest at the CCAS Mixer and on the Spirituality in Comics panel at the show. He will be signing a limited number of books at the CCAS booth (Small Press area #P-08).

“We love VeggieTales and have had a great time bringing the brand to the comic format for the first time," said Dan Lynch, publisher for B&H Kids, which released Volumes 1 and 2 in the series in February.

"We’re also excited to be bringing back Bibleman, which for two decades has been a key brand in the Christian market and has reached millions of children," Lynch continued. "The re-launch of Bibleman in the fall of 2016 will feature state-of-the-art animation joined with cutting-edge writing and good humor to give the brand a modern look and appeal."

"We know the kids who grew up with VeggieTales and Bibleman will love introducing their children to these popular characters,” he added.

The new Bibleman animation series will be announced at Comic-Con. It is being produced in partnership with P23 Entertainment Inc., located in Toronto, Canada. Originally introduced in 1995 as primarily a live-action video with other branded books and toys, Bibleman was later sold to Thomas Nelson, which produced additional live-action videos, and was then acquired by B&H Kids in 2013.
