BelieversGroup-webWord Weavers International, an 18-year-old organization for writers founded and led by Eva Marie Everson, and BelieversTrust, the new nonprofit organization led by Rebeca Seitz have announced the formation of a strategic alliance. Seitz recently formed BelieversTrust to fill the void left by the recent closure of Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild.

Nearly three years ago, Word Weavers partnered for a brief time with Christian Writers Guild, but the relationship ended amicably in 2011 due to different practices and goals of the organizations. The guild was a for-profit organization and Word Weavers is a nonprofit.

“I’m personally thrilled with our partnership,” Seitz said. “Eva brought me into this industry years ago through Word Weavers, and I’ve learned much from her wisdom since. To be able to join hands and serve writers well with solid education and assistance is a full-circle moment.”

All critiques offered by BelieversTrust will be provided by Word Weavers-trained teachers. The Word Weavers critique method, co-created by Everson, is known in the industry for its effectiveness and clarity.

“We took an idea from best-selling author Bryan Davis during his visit to our group back in the early days,” Everson said. “We reshaped it, added a little of this and a little of that, and came up with what we call ‘The Word Weavers Way’ of critique. When editors and agents approach me at writers conferences and compliment our members, I know that method has a lot to do with it. It simply works, and we are excited to bring it together with BT to help as many writers as possible.”

Everson is also the author of BelieversTrust’s “How to Write a Novel” course and will be teaching its inaugural class in January.

BelieversTrust part of TheBelieversGroup, which also has a for-profit arm, BelieversMedia, led by former Christian Writer’s Guild President Dave Sheets.
