Newsboys-AMACasting Crowns, Newsboys and Hillsong United have been nominated for the 2014 American Music Awards (AMA). Fans can vote through Twitter or through the show’s website (AMAvote.com) for one of the three groups in the Favorite Artist—Contemporary Inspirational category among many other categories.

For Casting Crowns, the nomination is the band’s sixth in its career, while the band has won two. The group’s current release, Thrive, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Contemporary Christian Albums Chart and No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

For Hillsong United, this AMA nomination is a first. Most recently, United won five Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, including Song of the Year for “Oceans” and Artist of the Year.

All three of the bands encouraged their Facebook fans to vote for them. Hillsong United’s post read: “We are not American—but we do love America!—In fact half of us live there now—We have been nominated for an AMA—you can vote below if we are indeed your ‘FAVORITE ARTIST—CONTEMPORARY INSPIRATIONAL.’ Please don't ask us to explain what that is.”

The 2014 American Music Awards will air live Sunday, Nov. 23, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The show will be broadcast from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
