Pre-registered buyers for the Denver Gift, Home, Jewelry & Resort Show more than doubled over last year, the Gift Show team recently announced, with 1,030 buyers registered a week prior to the show, up from 460 at the same time in 2013. The Rocky Mountain Gift Show, which runs Aug. 21-25 at the Denver Mart, credits the rise in registrations to “grassroots efforts” and “big name” speakers for the show’s seminars. New interest may also have spiked due to the show offering “Smoking Accessories & Gifts” for the first time.

“We have implemented a telemarketing campaign, calling every buyer and assisting them with preregistration, easing the process,” said  Stephanie Swimmer, Executive Trade Show Director. “We are also offering seminars that inspire, educate and inform. Bringing in names to orate on topics that the industry wants to hear. We have improved the look and feel of the Show both with better customer service, as well as bringing the Mart into the 21st century with a fresh look.”

Seminar topics and speakers include “Learn the Art of Store Design & Layout” by Maggie Binet, “Introduction to the Electronic Cigarette Industry” by John Allen and Dan Delasantos, “The Five Things Every Retailer Must Master To Survive" by Matthew Hudson, and “How To Compete With Big Chains” and “Giddy Up Your Marketing” by Lindsay Anvik.

“This growth demonstrates our buyers’ enthusiasm for our strategy to position this show as the Rocky Mountain region’s best gift show,” said Kathy Tracy, Creative Services Manager.

The 2014 Rocky Mountain Gift Show includes a smoking platform that features e-cigarettes, vaporizers, smoking accessories, hand-blown glass & pipes, hookah products, pipe tobaccos, gourmet foods and more.

The show also offers more than 400 permanent showrooms and 250 temporary exhibitors representing more than 2,500 lines of merchandise. The Denver Gift, Home, Jewelry & Resort Show is held in conjunction with the Denver Apparel and Accessory Market (Aug. 22-25) and the one-day Floral Expo (Aug. 24).
