Best-selling fiction author Davis Bunn—a four-time Christy winner—will emcee the presentation of the 15th annual Christy Awards for excellence in Christian fiction June 23. Marcia Z. Nelson, associate religion editor in charge of religion reviews at Publishers Weekly, will keynote the 7 p.m. event at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta.
A professional novelist for 24 years, Bunn has sales in excess of 7 million copies in 20 languages. His novels have appeared on numerous national best-seller lists, and his titles have been main or featured selections with Doubleday Book Club, Literary Guild, Mystery Guild, Word Book Club, Guideposts and Crossings Book Club. Bunn is writer-in-residence at Regent’s Park College, Oxford University, and has recently been named lecturer in Oxford’s new creative writing program. In recognition of Bunn’s Christy Awards, he will be inducted into the Christy Award Hall of Fame during this year’s ceremony.
In addition to her duties at PW, Nelson has written three books and taught at three colleges. She has master’s degrees from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University and is adding to that collection a master’s in divinity, in progress at the Earlham School of Religion.
Those unable to attend the event in person will be able to participate in real time via live-blog on the Christy Awards website.
