Best-selling biblical prophecy author Grant R. Jeffrey died Friday, May 11, 2012, after suffering a seizure at his home May 5. He had been unconscious and in critical condition since that time. His wife, Kaye, and family were by his bedside when he died and reported a “powerful peace in his room.”

Recognized as one of the leading teachers on Bible prophecy, he was chairman of Frontier Research Publications. His books by publishers including WaterBrook Press, Bantam, HarperCollins, Zondervan, Word and Tyndale House Publishers have sold more than 7 million copies and have been printed in 24 languages. Included among them are these WaterBrook Press titles: Finding Financial Freedom, Shadow Government; The Global Warming Deception; and The Scroll, written with Alton Gansky.

“Grant had an almost intimidating intellect, valued research, a quick wit and engaging sense of humor, all this while dealing with chronic pain from an injury sustained as a young man,” Gansky said. “He was an encourager. Most of all, he was a tireless worker for the Lord. The work of God was always on his mind. I count him as one of the most powerful influencers in my life.”

By Dawn’s Early Light (Thomas Nelson), written with Angela Hunt, received a Christy Award in the Futuristic category in 2001.

Hunt said she was “saddened” to hear of Jeffreys’ passing. “I worked with him on three novels and came to greatly admire his zeal, his knowledge and his enthusiasm for learning,” she said. “I also came to appreciate him as a friend. He will be missed.”

His next book, One Nation, Under Attack, is scheduled for release in January 2013 from WaterBrook.

Jeffreys’ Bible Prophecy Revealed television program airs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. In the last two decades, he had been the main speaker at hundreds of prophecy conferences around the world.

He earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in biblical studies from Louisiana Baptist University and was the editor of the Jeffrey Prophecy Study Bible (Frontier Research Publications), a project that was his doctoral dissertation. During the 1970s and 1980s, he taught eschatology at several colleges.

Jeffrey was also a professional in the financial planning and insurance brokerage field for 18 years, having acquired a Chartered Life Underwriter degree (law, pensions, accounting) from the University of Toronto.

Arrangements for the funeral, to be held in Toronto, will be announced at his ministry website, Prophecy Online (www.grantjeffrey.com). Letters or cards can be sent to the family through Grant Jeffrey Ministries, P. O. Box 129, Station U, Toronto, ON, M8Z 5M4, Canada.
