The second annual Christian Store Week—running Oct. 1-10—joins together 500 Christian retail stores in the nationwide event. Christian retailers and industry partners are offering discounts on products as well as author/artist in-store meet-and-greets.

Rather than holding the event for one day only, as with last year’s inaugural event, CBA decided to extend it to 10 days.

Along with special sales, retailers are offering the chance for consumers to give back through the purchase of the Feed the Flock CD, sold exclusively during Christian Store Week. The entire $5 purchase price supports ministry partner World Vision’s hunger projects locally and abroad. Last year’s Help Haiti CD contributed more than $60,000 to Compassion International, Operation Christmas Child and World Vision’s Haiti relief efforts.

With more stores participating this year, the number of giveaways participating retailers are sharing has also increased. Stores will be giving away event sponsors’ books, CDs and DVDs, including Michael W. Smith’s Christmas boxed set; Now Hear This CD set; Saving Savvy by Kelly Hancock; The Journey by Adam Hamilton; The Common English Bible; and The Story, NIV.

Charisma Media, Christian Retailing’s parent company, will promote Christian Store Week on its consumer-magazine websites, while CBA and Propeller Consulting are marketing the project to the media.
