Educational resource supplier Rose Publishing, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, marked the occasion with an unexpected award at Retailing ReBoot 2011.

The Torrance, Calif.-based publisher was presented with Christian Retailing's Supplier of the Year award for "outstanding contributions in the development and service of Christian retail."

The award was presented by Christian Retailing Publisher Dave Condiff to Robin Evans, sales representative at Rose. Receiving the honor, Evans said that since the company was founded as a kitchen-table effort by Gretchen Goldsmith, its range of products had grown to almost 90 pamphlets.

With wall charts, books, PowerPoint sets and DVD courses, the company offers a total of almost 200 SKUs, with three new, 14-panel pamphlets releasing in July. The Book of James, The Life of Moses and Live the Bible will each retail for $3.99.

Kaye Wright, CBA regional sales manager for FaithWords (Hachette Book Group) was named Salesperson of the Year. The Bookstore of the Year award was given to Chuck and Joanne Broderick, managers of Sarasota Christian Store in Sarasota, Fla.

The Church Bookstore of the Year award went to Dottie Poythress, manager of The Bookmark at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga.
