The growing Christian film industry is to be spotlighted during the world's biggest electronic media convention.

In partnership with the faith-based 168 Film Project, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has scheduled a daylong Faith ’N’ Film Summit in Las Vegas on April 10, ahead of the opening of the exhibition floor at the NAB Show in the city, running through April 14.

Aimed at church media professionals, filmmakers, artists, pastors, youth leaders and ministries seeking faith-based content, the event will focus on the intersection of art and faith.

Taking part in a panel discussion on “Market Forces in Faith and Family Content” will be Ken Wales, producer (Amazing Grace); Brian Bird, writer/producer (Touched by an Angel, Evening Shade); Paul Crouch Jr., vice president of administration at Trinity Broadcasting Network; and film reviewer Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide.

Among the questions to be addressed will be, “Where is the Best Market for Buying and Selling Faith and Family Films & TV?,” “Is a Secondary Market Desirable or Needed?” and “How is the Internet Changing Faith-Based Programming?”

The conversation will be moderated by John David Ware, founder and president of the 168 Film Project. “Some faith and family films have been hugely profitable, but the market can be rocky soil for growing box-office receipts,” he said. “Yet, ripe fruit awaits those with the passion to sow good seed.”

The summit will also feature screenings from short-film finalists from the 168 Film Project’s annual Speed-Faith Film production competition, which gives entrants one week in which to film and edit an 11-minute movie based on a theme and a Bible verse. The 168 Film Project will be exhibiting at the NAB Show, which draws nearly 90,000 attendees from around the world.
