Songs That Inspire Karen Kingsbury features songs by Mandisa, Matthew West, Britt Nicole and Mark Schultz as well as two songs—"Just Beyond the Clouds" and "If Heaven Had a Window"—from Kingsbury's children Kelsey Marie and Ty Russell.

"These songs have inspired some of my best writing," said Kingsbury, who contributed to the writing of the songs by her children. "My readers long to have an inside look at my heart. At the writing process, these songs give that inside look."
