GRAMMY-winning band Third Day recently received its ninth overall Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) milestone with the Gold certification of the group's Revelation album (Essential Records/Provident-Integrity Distribution).

The RIAA Gold recognition represents more than 500,000 units sold of Revelation, released in July 2008.

The recognition marks the band's ninth overall Gold certification--with Offerings, Offerings II, Come Together, Time and the CD/DVD version of Live Wire and the live-concert video project Live Revelation: On Stage, Off Stage, Backstage all receiving Gold status. Offerings and Live Wire reached the RIAA Platinum threshold, which signifies U.S. album shipments exceeding 1 million units or 100,000 units in longform video.

Additionally, Live Revelations was recognized in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category during the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards earlier this year. The Atlanta-based rock band also has GRAMMY trophies for the Essential Records albums Come Together (2002), Live Wire (2004) and Wherever You Are (2006).

Third Day's 11th studio release, Move, is set to be released by Essential Records Oct. 19. Third Day will be performing during the Make A Difference Tour 2010, sponsored by World Vision, Thomas Nelson, AEG Live, Outlive Your Life and HearItFirst.com. The tour--which also features Michael W. Smith, TobyMac, Jason Gray and best-selling author Max Lucado--kicks off Sept. 30, hitting 20 cities through the end of October.
