Generous attendees will help make it possible for Eastern European publishers and booksellers to travel to Romania to get training this fall.

A special offering taken at the Sunday evening Worship Him event to sponsor attendance of Christian product industry representatives in countries such as Poland, Hungary, Ukraine and Belgium at Marketsquare Europe in October raised $4,697.75, CBA Chair-elect George Thomsen announced at yesterday's show-floor ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Thomsen presented an oversized check for the gift to Jim Powell, president of Christian Trade Association International (CTAI), which is organizing Marketsquare Europe in Oradea, Romania, just prior to the Frankfurt International Book Fair for the convenience of American and other publishers who will be in Europe at the time.

CTAI also took a special offering Sunday for the same cause during its annual International Vision Celebration and Luncheon, collecting $2,962. With 60 Christian publishers in the country, Romania may be the center of Christian publishing in Eastern Europe, according to Powell.
