Concordia Publishing House (CPH) has been recognized with the 2009 Missouri Quality Award, which honors excellence in performance, leadership, customer service and satisfaction.

"Quality performance isn't really about the award; it is what we are called to give in service to the gospel of Christ Jesus," CPH President and CEO Bruce Kintz told employees. "This award testifies to that spirit at CPH."

The publishing arm of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, St. Louis-based not-for-profit CPH offers more than 8,000 products for use in congregations, schools and homes.

The Excellence in Missouri Foundation, a nonprofit educational organization, administers the Missouri Quality Award program. The award will be presented to CPH on Nov. 19 during the Missouri Quality Award Banquet in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.

CPH was one of several Christian publishers named among the 2009 Certified Best Christian Workplaces earlier this year. The publisher's Customer Call Center also recently received a Center of Excellence award from Benchmark Portal and the Purdue University Center for Customer-Driven Quality, recognizing its customer service team as ranking in the top 10% of 20,000 nationwide call centers based on efficiency and effectiveness.
